Acústico de Christian Hedgren (La Voz Suecia, The Theander Expression)

Fecha: 29/11/2013
Lugar: Finn’s Tavern (Madrid)

ENGLISH VERSION

Five hours by feet and five hours by horse to travel from the lands of the North, a cold embrace of Morpheus, a sickie of squire Jocke Johansson, and first visit to a wild región, but the knight Christian Hedgren overcame the challenge only showing what the chosen ones have: the heart of a lion and high skills.

On Thursday we had not even wiped the sleep from the eyes when we were informed that the elf Jocke Johansson had been hurted in the battle and had to have 11 stitches in one finger, so he couldn’t play the lute. Faced with the possibility of cancelling the diplomatic mission to entertain the Spanish territories or to keep on, the son of Odin, the one of the beautiful chant, didn’t hesitate: he would fight for spreading the word of his people, even if it took to renounce to spread it through the doctrines of Survivor and KISS.

However, the weight of having to represent by himself his kingdom and the feeling of considering himself more a minstrel than a troubadour, overcame him at first: he began half an hour before the schedule, he missed the chords, his hands trembled… The magician Rock Hunters –that protected the warrior- was afraid he might need some enchantment to mitigate the effects. But, miraculously, once convinced himself those foreigners weren’t hostile, that they understood his message and enjoyed it, he relaxed and boosted confidence, and used intuition to keep on chosing the most aproppiate set list. “I’ve played many important concerts, even in festivals, but I’ve never felt this. Your are amazing, guys”, exclaimed, in the break of crying.

The one that was in the break of crying was this ambassador of La Estadea when she discovered that on his chest he was wearing our coat of arms, some red roses, that evoke passion and love, and to which he paid good homage. A coat of arms that stationed crimminals retained in the walls of the kingdom of the North and that could only be rescued by the ferocity of the sword of Hedgren.

The epic poems of The Theander Expression were welcomed and repeated in the encores. ‘Strange Nostalgia‘ and ‘Meet Me There Tonight‘ brang to mind the class of the knight Lou Gramm of the land of Foreigner and it was not missed ‘Mr Know It All‘, dedicated to the tyrants that make impossible the understanding of the people. There were also featured others as the one of Iron Maiden and their battle of ‘Run To The Hills‘ –an old tale of the Nordic lands-, the one of Dragonforce and ‘Through The Fire And The Flames‘ –with which he auditioned to join the army of Dragonforce– and the one of Helloween and ‘I Want Out‘. He crowned with the joyful story of teenage years of ‘Summer Of 69‘ of Bryan Adams.

It wasn’t a performance for the nobility, full of complicated language and endless courtesy formulas, it was addressed to the Third State, with simple and direct language, and performed with a heart in love. The minstrel Hedgren was warm as the fireplace on a hut, in the middle of the Nordic Winter; comforting as a hot cup of glogg; satiating as a reindeer casserole; courteous as a horse of Dalarna. The maids sighed moved by love and the knights bent on their knees in front of him. The hammer of Thor hit with the smoothness of a feather to link forever the heart of two lands: the diplomatic missión had succeed.
