¡Disfrutad!

Hola y bienvenidos a Extremadura.

No hemos podido hacer turismo.

ENGLISH VERSION

Not very much time ago, in a far away galax… I mean, not very much time ago, at the Extremanga (Merida) we had the chance to chat with the japanese band Adams, after watch them in live a day before. A show that was amazing and that we really enjoyed. Now… we have the chance to read what we were speaking. Enjoy!

Hello and welcome to Extremadura. For those who don’t know ADAMS, could you please introduce yourselves?

Shota: Adams is a two person group, which consists of Shota and Adam. Adams is a new generation group, which is a mix of Adam and Adam. We call our fans Eves, -since our name comes from the Adam and Eve myth-.

Have you worked together before?

Shota: Before Adams was formed we worked together, but only for 6 months. Then the –formation- broke up and we began to work together as Adams.

Your band’s topic is thought to be about homosexuality and boys love. How do you define your band and music? Why did you decide to include this concept in your shows?

Shota: Even if it’s boys with boys or girls with girls, we are interested in creating love songs. However, we don’t want to make boring love songs or songs in a visual kei style. We needed a new style which fused rock and love. The result of our concept is Adams.

You’ve just released your second studio album called ‘Sixnine’. What can we find in this new recording? Is it different from your previous works?

Shota: ‘Sixnine’ is very similar to ‘Neo Sexual’. Neo sexual had only seven songs, and ‘Sixnine’ is a 12 song album, so we wanted to go deep in certain aspects. The concept and theme in both albums are similar, as well as our style. Next time our album is going to be completely different. Adam’s first sense is now gone.

If I had to pick one of your songs, it would be ‘Dizzy love’. (I can’t get it out of my head) Could you tell us more about it…

Shota: It’s a very easy song, very Adam-ish. If you don’t know the song, please listen to it. It also has a promotion video.

When you start working in a new song or project, how do you usually work? Does one of you write the lyrics and the other the music, or do you put it all in common?

Shota: My place is related to the song and rhythm. When my part is finished, I sent it to Adam, he listens to it and then we work on it. First it comes the song and then the melody, and sometimes I only write the melody and then I ask Adam what he thinks about it. Once he listens to it he starts writing about a topic and so on in the studio.

Where does your inspiration come from? Which bands inspire you the most? Is there any western artist in your list?

Shota: Lately we’ve been inspired by electronic music. We like groups such as Icona Pop. We don’t pay attention to visual kei bands. We like visual kei, even though we don’t listen to it quite often. If we have to choose a visual kei artist, we’d definitely choose Kuroyume.

Could you imagine yourselves doing something different from music? If you weren’t musicians, what would you like to be?

Adam: I love animals so I’d be working in a zoo, taking care of them.

Shota: Businessman (salary man).

This is your first time in our country (Spain). Did you like it? What do you think about Spain and what do you like the most?

Adam: People are very kind. We haven’t been able to do tourism. I think people are very passionate.

Shota: We still haven’t had time to create an image of the country. –something about people being ottori (calmy, gentle) – All food we ate was delicious.

Please say something to your fans or to the readers who still don’t know you

Shota: We are Visual Kei in Japanese culture. We’re glad to have met you here, so thank you. Please welcome Adams in the future.
