Bullet For My Valentine ‘Fever’

ENGLISH VERSION

After having sold one million of copies of Scream Aim Fire, the incoming long play of the Welsh could only stir up the interest. They promised to come closer to hard rock and they’ve kept their promise. Fever deepens in the path started by their second record, more melodic, plainer, and with more romantic lyrics; in short, boosts their strong points.

Opposite to the search of the external enemy of Megadeth in their first releases, they come up to the confrontation with the inner enemy of Papa Roach (‘we can blame the world forever/we could just escape together’ they sing in Breaking Out, Breaking Down), their lyrics turn more personal and it’s easy to feel identified with them, the confession becomes more intimate. To the common pain (‘I wanna run/scape from your prison/but when I leave I feel something it’s missing’ told in Bittersweet Memories) and to the rage (‘don’t tell me where I will lay in your cemetery/ don’t try to silence and bury me’ available in Dignity) it’s added the animal sensuality (‘rip off all your clothes /you smell so fucking good/ you make me lose control’ of Fever), feelings that Matt Tuck expresses with an open torment and passion, singing better than ever.

Once more they open the album with their next singles (Your Betrayal, Fever, and The Last Fight), even though if there’s something that make outstand these romantics of nineteenth century it’s their lack of disposable songs.

Improving each time, with a flawless look, memorable videos, and spoiling their fans, the British can have room in the top for long, not for a chance threatened by bands like Avenged Sevenfold or Sacred Mother Tongue. From their name, they are the literary romantic essence tuned in for the new millennium.
