Nos adentramos en el corazón de la noche olmiense con el recorrido por los lugares donde se reúnen los rockeros.
Probablemente los dos locales más famosos de Estocolmo son Harry B James y Pub The Anchor.
Harry B James (Regerisgatan, 47) es un pub en pleno centro, cerca de la T-Centralen de metro, en el que ofrecen comida rápida hasta las 22 horas y en el que hay actuaciones musicales. Los viernes hay un club de hard rock llamado Crazy Nights y los sábados, uno que se llama Sin City. Los domingos y los lunes hay un karaoke de rock. Suele haber actuaciones musicales y por su escenario han pasado o pasarán artistas como Dynazty, LA Guns, Conny Bloom, o Tigertailz.
Pub The Anchor (Sveavagen, 90) es otro pub en el que también sirven comida, pero de uso más nocturno, comparable al Intrepid Fox de Londres. Suele haber actuaciones de grupos de versiones. Durante mi estancia hubo uno de versiones de DIO, bastante bueno. Cuando se llena, cerca del escenario hace un calor bastante insoportable, con lo que conviene colocarse cerca de la puerta. La entrada vale unos 40 SEK y las cervezas no bajan de 50 SEK. Como dj, algunos días de la semana, uno de los miembros de la banda DeVan, y vimos a algún artista muy famoso en Suecia. Tiene terraza en verano y una planta pequeña arriba, con mesas. No puede pagarse con tarjeta, pero hay un cajero automático dentro del bar.
Una buena opción y barata es Kelly’s (Folkungatan, 49), donde las cervezas valen unos 26 SEK –un precio muy económico para Estocolmo-y la comida es abundante y jugosa. Abierto desde las 16 horas hasta la 3 de la mañana. Decoración de los clásicos del cine.
Los viernes y los sábados Helen Krog’s (St Eriksgatan, 87) tiene el club Rocks en el que se pincha música rock, de 21 a 3 am. Vimos por allí al batería de Entombed y degustamos las diferentes variedades de sidras –de pera, de mandarina y de chile, de lima, etc-.
Por supuesto tampoco vamos a perdernos el Hard Rock Café Stockholm (Sveavagen, 75), donde Europe grabó en 1986 el vídeo de ‘Rock The Night’. La decoración interior ha cambiado bastante, pero la exterior no. Cenamos al lado de la vitrina de Europe, la especialidad de los cafés suecos -hamburguesa de salmón y un Tropical Rock, cóctel que lleva Absolut Frambuesa, el famoso vodka sueco-. Para una mayor inmersión en el mundo de las bebidas espirituosas y sus efectos, además de para ver obras de Arte con la botella de Absolut como inspiración –incluida la famosísima de Andy Warhol-, recomendamos la visita al Spritmuseum (Dalagatan, 100), en Djurgarden.
Su memorabilia era menos abundante con el de Gotemburgo, pero encontramos por ahí los pantalones de Michael Hutchence, el bote de laca fucsia de Crashdiet, y la guitarra de Steve Stevens, por ejemplo.
Debaser es una cadena de pubs con franquicia en Malmo, en Gotemburgo y en Estocolmo. En la capital tiene tres. Aparte de servir comida, se celebran conciertos de todo tipo. Durante nuestra estancia, el más importante que se celebró fue el de Marillion, en el Medis (Medborgarplatsen, 8).
Para el verano, el de Slussen, que está situado en el casco antiguo, al lado de las aguas, se convierte en una terraza exterior, con sombrillas de paja, que tiene que cerrar cuando llueve.
Cerca del Debaser Slussen, como bar para disfrutar tranquilamente de una copa con los amigos nos encontramos Medusa Rock Bar (Kormhamstorg,61, Gamla Stan), que tiene precios moderados y música rock muy variada y que abre de las 14 horas a las 3 am.
Otra opción, en plena ruta de los libros Millenium, tenemos Akkurat (Hornsgatan, 18), un bar y restaurante donde hay pequeñas actuaciones, y que tiene muchos tipos de whisky.
En el local de la juventud de Estocolmo, Klubben Fryshuset (Martendalsgatan, 2-8) han tocado bandas como Gotthard, Sonic Syndicate y Kreator, y tocarán Trivium (31 de octubre) y HEAT (16 de noviembre).
En época veraniega también se celebran conciertos en los parques de Grona Lund y de Skansen, en Djurgarden, a los que se accede en el tranvía nº 44, muy cerca de ambos.
En Grona Lund se presentan programas veraniegos como Sommarkryset –del que ya os hemos hablado en otra de nuestras crónicas, la de HEAT-, en el que se presentan a los artistas suecos más vibrantes del momento, y también hay conciertos de gente como Iggy Pop, Machine Head, Lenny Kravitz, y Lillasister. Se accede a los conciertos pagando un extra a la entrada del parque de atracciones pero en cuanto se completa el aforo, no se permite el acceso, por lo que mejor llegar pronto. Los ensayos de los programas suelen empezar sobre las 18 horas. Para los conciertos, atender a lo que ponga en la web, con respecto al concierto correspondiente.
El museo vivo de Skansen se localiza muy cerca de Grona Lund y en él se celebran grandes conciertos, como el de Work Of Art+Toto. Las vistas son extraordinarias: vegetación y aguas cristalinas.
Musicales
En agosto se ha estrenado en el Stadsteater (Drottningatan, 34) el musical de la versión rockera de Los Tres Mosqueteros de Alejandro Dumas, en el que D’Artagnan pasa a ser una especie de David Lee Roth.
Por su parte, el ex cantante de The Ark, Ola Salo, protagoniza en Gota Lejon (Gotgatan, 55) la última versión de Jesucristo Superstar en, que lleva protagonizando desde 2008. Este vídeo corresponde a su pase para la prensa.

We go deep into the heart of the night of Stockholm with a walk on the places where the rockers meet.
Probably the two most well known places in Stockholm for rockers are Harry B James and Pub The Anchor.
Harry B James (Regerisgatan, 47) it’s a pub in the centre, close to the underground station of T-Centralen, where you can eat fast food until 10 pm and after that there is live music. Sometimes there are cover bands and other times artists like Dynazty, LA Guns, Conny Bloom or Tigertailz. On Fridays there is a hard rock club called Crazy Nights and on Saturdays, another one called Sin City. On Sundays and on Mondays there is a rock karaoke.
Pub The Anchor (Sveavagen, 90) it’s another pub, which also serves food, but it’s more a night venue, that can be compared to Intrepid Fox in London. There is also live music, normally cover bands. While we were there, played a DIO cover band, that was very nice. When it’s crowdy, it can be dangerously hot next to the stage, so it’s advisable to stay near the entrance door. If you want to eat something, there is always a hot dog stand outside. The ticket it’s around 40 SEK and beers, 50 SEK. The dj, some of the week days, it’s one of the band members of the band DeVan, and we saw a very famous singer in Sweden. There is a small second floor and in summer you can stay outside. You can’t pay with credit card, but there is a bankomat inside the bar.
A very good and cheap option it’s Kelly’s (Folkungatan, 49), where beers are 26 SEK –a very cheap price for Stockholm- and the food is tasty and it´s served in big portions. Open from 16 until 3 in the morning. It’s decorated by classics of the cinema.
On Fridays and on Saturdays Helen Krog’s (St Eriksgatan, 87) holds the rock club Rocks where they play rock from 21 a 3 am. There we came across the drummer of Entombed and tasted some types of cyder –pear, tangerine with chilli, lime, etc.
Obviously we can’t not miss Hard Rock Café Stockholm (Sveavagen, 75), where Europe recorded in 1986 the video of ‘Rock The Night’. Inside has been redecorated, but not outside. We had dinner in the zone of Europe. We ate the speciality of Swedish cafes –salmon hamburger and a Tropical Rock, a cocktail with Absolut Raspberry, the famous Swedish vodka.- For a deeper diving into the spirits and its effects, as well as to see Art pieces with the bottle as inspiration –included the famous painting of Andy Warhol-, we recommend to visit Spritmuseum (Dalagatan, 100), in Djurgarden.
You’ll find less memorabilia than in Gothenburg, but there are some findings like the pants of Michael Hutchence, the fuchsia hair spray of Crashdiet, and the guitars of Steve Stevens.

Close to Debaser Slussen, as example of a bar to enjoy a calm drink with friends we find Medusa Rock Bar (Kormhamstorg,61, Gamla Stan), with nice prices and varied rock music, that opens from 2pm to 3 am.
Another option, right on the route of the books of Millenium, we have Akkurat (Hornsgatan, 18), a bar and a restaurant where there are live acts and that has many types of whisky.

In Grona Lund are held summer programmes like Sommarkryset –already mentioned in another of our reviews, the one from HEAT-, where are introduced the most vibrant Swedish artists of the moment, and there are also concerts of people like Iggy Pop, Machine Head, Lenny Kravitz, and Lillasister. Concerts can be accesed after paying an extra to the amusement park but as soon as the capacity it’s full, the access it’s denied, so you’d better arrive soon. The live museum of Skansen it’s very near to Grona Lund and there take place great concerts, as the one of Work Of Art+Toto. The views are extraordinary: green and crystal clear waters.
