Besa o mata: así de contundentes se muestran los de Nevada y después de escuchar a fondo su disco, apetece más consentirles que meterles una bala en la sesera. Se manejan con soltura en un terreno ya abonado por grupos como Heavens Basement o Steadlur y a diferencia de ellos pueden ser de una dulzura de algodón de azúcar o de una brutalidad de pelo en pecho. Adictivos como un beso con lengua, desde la primera escucha te descubrirás cantando y sacudiéndote ante temas como ‘I Wanna Be Your Man‘, ‘Baby Baby Baby‘, o ‘All Night‘.
En ellos se conjuga el aire festivo de Sugar Ray con las guitarras épicas de Iron Maiden, el ritmo pegadizo de AC/DC con el carisma de Aerosmith, la voz ardiente de Rob Thomas con las sugestivas letras de Whitesnake, el refinamiento europeo con la desinhibición americana.
Si algo hay que recriminarles es sólo el gusto por las baladas blandengues como ‘Next Best Thing‘ y ‘Long Way Home‘, muy Made in USA y casi para maduritos o para momentos sentimentaloides.
Esta creación del cantante y guitarrista principal Michael Grant suena como si hubiera pertenecido desde siempre a la banda sonora de nuestras vidas, pero sin retufo a naftalina; es un disco vibrante y optimista, puro hedonismo. Rescatado para el mercado británico por el sello de la revista Classic Rock, esperemos que se dignen a sacarlo aquí.
Todo un disco to feel good para disfrutar en cualquier lugar y si es en la playa, al lado de un daiquiri bien helado, mejor.

Kiss or kill: that bluntly those of Nevada show and after listening to their record in deep, you feel closer to spoil them than to shot them in the head. They quite manage in a style previously worked out by bands like Heavens Basement or Steadlur and on contrast they can be as sweet as candy flop or of the brutality of a macho man. Addictive as a French kiss, from the first pass you’ll find yourself driven singing and shaking to tunes as ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’, ‘Baby Baby Baby’, or ‘All Night’.
In them meet the party spirit of Sugar Ray with the epic guitars of Iron Maiden, the sticky rhythm of AC/DC with the charisma of Aerosmith, the fiery voice of Rob Thomas with the suggestive lyrics of Whitesnake, the European charme with the American lack of restrain.
If there’s something we should reproach them it’s only their taste for cloying ballads like ‘Next Best Thing’ and ‘Long Way Home’, very made in usa and almost for not-so-young people or for depressive moments.
This creation of the vocalist and lead guitars Michael Grant sounds as if had always belonged to the soundtrack of our lives, but without the stench to mothballs: it’s a vibrant and optimistic record, hedonism in full. Rescued for the British market by the record company of Classic Rock, we hope here we will be gifted with its release.
A feel good album to enjoy everywhere and if it’s in the beach, with a chilled daiquiri, even better.
