Os hablamos por tercera vez de estos chicos de Gotemburgo que descubrimos como teloneros de H.E.A.T. y que ganaron nuestro corazón entachuelado desde entonces, con un concierto en la que solo les faltó disfrazarse de Freddie Mercury en ‘I Want To Break Free’. Se revolcaron, sudaron y, sobre todo, demostraron que ser teloneros es solo el primer peldaño para llegar a ser cabeza de cartel.
Este EP que os presentamos, ‘Out Of The Shade‘, es un disco de descartes de su debut, ‘Shades Of White‘, pero que quizás por la condensación de su esencia en cuatro temas, es lo mejor que han publicado hasta ahora.
Su rock suena como tiene que sonar: sucio, directo, rabioso, irónico y emotivo, y las fotos son como tienen que ser: sencillas y contundentes, reveladoras de su alma guerrera. Nada de portadas para quinceañeras ni de productores estrella para vender un paquete del que se desconoce el contenido: se muestran tal y como son.
Los guitarristas y también vocalistas Filip Rapp y Joan Kid Sallrot son los dos pilares de este martillo golpeador de las conciencias y difundidores del rock en pelotas. Si en su debut tenian ‘I Can Make You Run‘, en este EP tienen ‘Adore‘: 1.54 minutos, intenso y macarra como The Ramones, con teclados retro que con el trabalenguas de su letra intenta recuperar a una chica que ya no leshace caso.
Si la sorpresa en su anterior trabajo era la emocionante ‘It’s Forbidden To Make You Mad‘, en ‘Out Of The Shade’ es ‘Lacie Heart‘, en el que lo mínimo, unos teclados de iglesia, Kid mezcla en sus vocales a unos Metrostation adultos con la sensibilidad de Keane y el ‘Trouble’ de Coldplay. ¡Guau, que subidón!
También nos encontramos con ‘Oh No‘, single que alcanzo el platino en Suecia, una combinación de Kiss setentero y de los China Crisis ochenteros.
‘Tennis Is Nice‘ es el corte restante, en el que la relación de pareja parece moverse en el juego del peloteo y, ¿quien mejor que Rapp para cantarlo?
¿Qué podemos encontrarnos en este EP? La portada nos lo resume bien: potencia y guitarras. De nuevo escogen los tonos azulados, que se asocian con las personas creativas, con la parte más intelectual de la mente, con la intuición y con la serenidad. Y este color nos sugiere lo que podemos encontrar en su interior: cuatro cortes directos e inteligentes que satisfacen al alma y al cuerpo, una equilibrada mezcla entre The Ramones, Kiss y China Crisis.
Una delicia para comer con los dedos y enguarrarse a gusto. Los cubiertos son para los débiles.

That’s the third time that we talk about these guys of Gothenburg (Sweden) that we hunted while supporting HEAT and that won our pinned heart, with a concert in which there was just left dressing up like Freddie Mercury in I Want To Break Free. They rolled, they sweated and, over all, they proved that being supporters it’s just the first step to becoming headliners.
This EP that we introduce today, ‘Out Of The Shade‘, it’s made of not chosen songs for their debut, ‘Shades Of White‘, but perphaphs it’s the condensation of their essence in four songs that makes it their best release.
Their rock sounds the way it should ─dirty, straight, furious, ironic and moving─, and the pictures look how they should ─simple and forceful, revealing their warrior soul─. Forget about covers for teenagers and star producers chosen by the industry to sell a product they didn’t ever dared to look inside to see how it’s like: they come as they are.
The guitarists and also vocalists Filip Rapp and Joan Kid Sallrot are the two bases for this sledge hammer of consciences and issuers of bare rock. If in their debut they holded ‘I Can Make You Run‘, in this EP there comes ‘Adore‘: 1.54 minutes, fiery and sleazy like The Ramones, with retro keyboards and with a tongue─twister in its lyrics to bring back the girl that doesn’t care about them as much as she used to.
If the gift of the previous work was the thrilling ‘It’s Forbidden To Make You Mad’, in ‘Out Of The Shade’ it’s ‘Lacie Heart‘, which maximizes the basics: keyboards from church and moving vocals from Kid, grown up Metrostation meets the sensibility of Keane and of ‘Trouble’ of Coldplay. Wow, what a high!
We also come across ‘Oh No‘, single that went platinum in Sweden, a combination of the Kiss from 70s and the China Crisis from 80s.
‘Tennis Is Nice‘ it’s the remaining song, in which a couple seems to play the rally game and, who’s better than Rapp to sing it with cocky attitude?
What can we find in this EP? The cover offers a good summary: power and guitars. Again they chose the blue colours, that are associated with creative people, with the most creative part of mind, with intuition and with serenity. And this colour suggests what we can find inside: four straight and intelligent songs that satisfy body and soul, a balanced mingle of The Ramones, Kiss y China Crisis.
A delicatessen to eat by your fingers and make yourself dirty. Cutlery it’s for the weak ones.
